In addition we hold an event each September dedicated to raising funds for the local Sue Ryder hospice in Leckhampton. We aim to raise at least £1000 on these occasions and feel honoured to support such a cause. Thank you.
While we enjoy our dancing and providing our own brand of entertainment wherever we go, it gives us great satisfaction if in so doing we are able help others less fortunate than ourselves.
During our performances you will hear the Squire asking if the onlookers can spare a few coins for the “lucky hat” as it passes around or to feed Crumpet the horse and in return for their kindness we wish them Good Luck, Sunshine and Fertility! Don’t worry if you don’t carry cash… we can take contactless card payment too!
Some people may assume, quite incorrectly, that as we are often dancing in the vicinity of a pub with a pint of beer in our hands that the money collected naturally buys more beer! How wrong can they be!
Every year the money we collect is given to local (or national) worthy causes. The charities differ each year and are chosen at the start of the year by the active members of the side. Below are the causes that have benefitted during past years. May we thank you on their behalf for your generosity.
